Surprise Playdate

Every once in a while, I like to surprise the kids with something they love to do.  Today, we've been invited to go to Chick-fil-a for a lunch/playdate.  It seems like no big deal - an everyday kind of thing.  Well, our family has given up fast food for the entire summer, so we haven't made it to Bella's absolute FAVORITE eating establishment for a very long time.  She has no idea where we're going, but she's excited about her surprise anyway.  Laney gets to tag along on this one, too!  We're leaving the men at home to have "guy time".  Should be fun!

Luke and Carrots

Luke had an interesting reaction to his carrots today. He kept opening his mouth, so I kept feeding him! Not sure it was his favorite, though.

30 Fabulous toes!

Our "art project" today turned into a mani-pedi.  Laney had a hard time sitting still long enough for her paint to dry.  She also painted my right toes hot pink, while Bella painted my left ones red.  Pretty good aim for their age, I say!  Bella's alternating light and hot pink sparkly toes, however, are gorgeous.
I painted the girls' fingernails, too.  It's hard to tell, but there is polish on Bella's - a VERY light pink with sparkles on top.  I don't ever bother to paint my fingernails.  I use my hands way to much!

So Far, So Good!

Well, it's 8:17am, and we're all doing pretty good on our first day without Daddy at home.  We're all fed, and dressed (well, except for me - still in PJs), and we haven't had any major blowups!  We even had a Hannah Montana dance party in the kitchen.  It's a good day.  The best part - it feels like a Monday, but it's already Friday!  So, Jerry will only be gone from us for 1 day this week.  I guess it's our practice day.   I think I even have enough energy to attempt an art project this morning.  Man, I AM feeling good!

Well Hello There!

Well, it was inevitable.  I have created a blog.  I love talking about my kids, whether I'm bragging or complaining, wondering how I'm going to figure it all out, or thinking I have.  Plus, I think I should spend my time at the computer doing something a little more productive than playing Sorority Life and Market Street on Facebook!  It's about time.  So, now I'm going to put my brain and fingers to work and blog to you all.  Hope you don't mind. Since tomorrow is Jerry's first day back at work after the summer break, I'm sure I'll have some stories of how I managed to juggle all three kids by myself.  Just wait - there's ALWAYS stories.  As for now, I'm going to figure out this whole blog thing while I listen to the girls playing/fighting/talking in their room over the monitor.  At least Luke is sleeping... for now.
